Howdy, Mustang Wranglers! Hold Your Horses for the 45th Annual Western Days Stampede!
Yee-haw! Get ready to gallop into fun at our rootin'-tootin' family tradition, where little broncos from 1st to 8th grade dash a mile, and big folks tackle the open 5K. This year's theme, "Hold Your Horses," promises a wild west adventure benefiting our Mustang High School Cross Country teams – all thanks to the Mustang Pacesetters Booster Club.
Key Roundup Details:
- 5K Stampede: Friday, September 5, 2025, at 7:00 PM – Wild Horse Park (certified course, medals for top finishers in age groups).
- Kids' Stampede: Saturday, September 6, 2025 – Mustang High School Stadium. Races by grade – arrive 15 minutes early! Top medals for boys and girls, plus free ice cream for elementary and intermediate finishers courtesy of Mustang's Sonic!
- 7:00 AM: 7th & 8th Grade
- 7:15 AM: 6th Grade
- 7:30 AM: 5th Grade
- 7:50 AM: 4th Grade
- 8:10 AM: 3rd Grade
- 8:30 AM: 2nd Grade
- 8:50 AM: 1st Grade
- Registration: Just $20 for kids (includes shirt if pre-registered by August 27), $30 for 5K. Sign up online via Eventbrite for guaranteed spots and tees – or grab paper forms below or from school P.E. teachers (due by Wed, Aug 27 for schools). Late entries at the Chili Cook-Off (Fri, Sep 5, 6-8 PM) or race day (no shirt guarantee). No refunds, no rain date – but plenty of supervision by our HS cross country trail guides!
- Packet Pickup: Fri, Sep 5 (6-8 PM at Town Center during Chili Cook-Off) or Sat, Sep 6 (from 6:30 AM at stadium north entrance).
- Safety First: No adults on the kids' course – we've got it covered. Park smart: South/west of Town Center for 5K, north entrance for kids' races.
